w/c 27th July – Getting ready for gravel
- prep Forza wheel set for Vitus (road bike)
Take current brake rotors and tyres off.
- take Prime whee set off Vitus and swap for the Forza wheel set
Taking the wheels off, then taking tyres, inner tubes, disc rotors and cassette off.
- put all of the above components on to the Forza wheels
Clean the cassette and put everything on the Forza wheel set then put into the Vitus.
- Prep Prime wheel set for the ICAN Graro (gravel bike) and take out current alloy wheels from the Graro
Remove the alloy wheels from the Graro as well as the disc rotors, put the rotors on to the Primes. Put my new AliExpress 12 speed cassette and KMC chain on the Graro. Change inner tubes to ones that have longer valves as the Primes are deeper set. Put tyres back on then put the completed wheel set on the Graro.
- Index the Graro
This is a big pain the arse. A Chinese cassette (cheaper and lighter) and a Chinese electronic mech and leavers called Wheeltop. It worked really well as an 11 speed group set but trying to reconfigure to a 12 speed is proving to be really really difficult.
I’ve got to a place with it where I’ve ridden to test it but, it’s still not good in two sprockets of the cassette so more tweaking is needed. If this was Shimano Di2 or Sram eTap this wouldn’t be so difficult….

- CLEAN THE MTB
So very dusty after the ride at Cannock. Wipe down, degrease the drive chain. Change the battery in the power pedals. Ready for the next ride.
